Spotlight interview with Nygel Harriman

Olivia works as a Customer Relationship Manager in Palma for United Advisers Marine. Olivia enjoys being the first point of contact for all her clients helping with any queries or questions they may have.

Nygel is a key part of the United Advisers team and has been with us for over seven years. He manages our Geneva office and works as a Wealth Manager after being promoted from a Client Relationship Manager after only a year. Geneva is the perfect location for Nygel as he likes to keep fit, travel and play the occasional round of golf. Read on to discover more about Nygel and his time with United Advisers.

What made you join United Advisers?

I joined UAG in 2010 and wanted to work in a truly international city, hence Geneva. I saw the prospect of working with David Cooper as a step up in my development towards becoming a financial planner and wealth manager.

What is something clients are surprised to learn about UAG?

UAG clients are always surprised by the personal nature of my working relationship towards them. I think more commonly in this industry, the Wealth Manager/client relationship is more heavily sales focussed and lacks a personal touch. The personal element is what makes us different from other financial services and I am really proud of it.

Do you have a top financial/investment/life tip?

Don’t let short-term volatility take your eye away from your long term goals.

I think taking on your first client is always an important one, there is only ever one first one.

David Cooper is a closet Manchester United Fan

Even though Nygel is quick to spill the beans on David Cooper, we will forgive him! Especially as my secret was a football based confession.
