Top things to do at Monaco Yacht Show 2018

Oliver leads the United Advisers Marine Division. In particular, he looks after marine crew members and their immediate and long-term needs.

At MYS 2017 there were more than 30,000 visitors, over 580 exhibitors and 125 superyachts. This year’s show is shaping up to be another unforgettable, not-to-be-missed event in the yachting calendar.

Here’s a little reminder of what you can expect from MYS to get you in the spirit:

On the quays, we see the return of key the exhibition areas dedicated to yachting and luxury sectors, with the popular thematic areas including the Car Deck and Tenders & Toys.

The show opens each day at 10:00 and closes at 18:30. The event has its own app, which you can download here if you use an IOS device and here for Android users. If you haven’t attended MYS before we recommend downloading this to help you navigate around the show.

The Monaco Yacht show also promises to include more than 150 private events including Press conferences, product presentations, and cocktail events on board yachts, at stands and in private soirees. This is where the real action happens so, if you are working onboard with experienced crew find out what they have been invited to!

The Yachts

The list of yachts currently runs at about 125 and is continually being updating. Click here for the list. The average length of the superyachts on display this year is 49 metres, and of the yachts currently listed, around 40 will be new luxury yachts making their debut at the show. This always causes great excitement in the industry so it is worth getting a look at the yachts shaping the industry trends.

The northern and southern docks in the Port Hercules will showcase this incredible collection of the world’s most spectacular superyachts.  The Riva 110′ Dolcevita, from one of the best-known producers of luxury fibreglass yachts in the world measuring 27 to 169 feet,  will be taking centre stage.

The Car Deck

Visit Quai Antoine 1er to admire high-performance supercars and the latest prestige cars from the crème de la crème of the automobile industry including McLaren, Aston Martin and Lamborghini before taking a thrilling test drive around Monaco’s world-famous Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.

Tenders and Toys

On the Quai Antoine, you’ll find fifteen ‘Tenders & Toys’ on display on the dock showcasing an adrenaline pumping range of leisure equipment from jetpacks and fly boards to amphibious vehicles and personal submarines. And if that’s not enough, you’ll find over twenty more tenders on show in the water in the Quai Jarlin. This is the perfect opportunity to see what is new in the industry and to get excited about ‘up-skilling’ yourself by trying them out.

ACREW & IMM Crew Lounge

ACREW will kick off the show with the annual SXM Crew Party from 8 til late on the evening of Wednesday 26th September at La Rascasse.  Everyone is welcome, so come along and say hi.

During the show, ACREW will host its immensely popular Crew Lounge at La Rascasse open daily between 09.30 – 17:00 from 26th to 28th September. La Rascasse is a key location during the show and the perfect meeting spot to catch up with other crew.

Given that there is enjoy complimentary food and beverages and a relaxed professional atmosphere, there is no reason to miss out the lounge on your MYS tour.

Also, in recognition of the important role the Caribbean plays in Superyachting, the ACREW & IMM Crew Lounge will be a Caribbean styled haven to celebrate Yachting in the Caribbean.

A selection of top superyacht businesses will be running social events and seminars together with ACREW, and the programme of activities delivers valuable learning for all professionals on-board and onshore. UAM will also be at the Rascasse, so why not join us there for a chat about planning the life you want.

Arts and chilling out

The starboard exhibition lounge on the Quai Antoine 1er will play host to lifestyle companies devoted to luxury products and charter destinations. Here, in addition to the press centre, you’ll find an elegant lounge bar and a stylish restaurant with a sunny terrace. Look out for the Art Pavilion, brand new for this year, and dedicated to the exhibition of sensational artworks.

Upper Deck Lounge

Open each day from 10:00 to 18.30, the Upper Deck located in the Parvis Piscine exhibition tent will host the Fairmont Hotel Monte Carlo hosted restaurant, the Lanson Champagne Bar, and Lounge area. This is also an excellent venue for networking, a meal with friends, or winding down at the end of the day.

Nightlife

MYS 2018 wouldn’t be the same without the night-time events, and this year’s show promises a full programme of social events and parties, starting with the Inaugural Gala Party; a black-tie dinner and awards ceremony honouring the finest in superyacht interior and exterior design for 2018.

You can look forward to a whole host of cocktail parties, product launches and dinners to make your time on the French Riviera the most memorable social event of the year.
